The short term homestay program offers teenagers opportunities to experience the everyday life of a host family in Spain. Within in this program, students are completely immersed in the language and do not have opportunities to speak their own mother tongue. This allows for a quick improvement of the Spanish language skills. Students get the unique opportunity to discover a new way of life and a new culture first hand, not like a tourist! This program is ideally suited to mature and independent students, eager to meet new people from abroad and with enough language proficiency to communicate with host family members. Because family integration can

be challenging, the pure homestay program isn’t always recommended for a first trip abroad. Prior experience with being away from home is important. Students are not able to choose a specific location as the primary goal is to match a student with a host family in terms of interests, hobbies etc. The pure homestay program is a true cultural exchange. Host families come from varied social and economic backgrounds, and live in a variety of locations (big towns, small cities, villages, farms, etc). Wherever the student's host family lives, there are wonderful things to discover and absorb. Our host families are interested in sharing the daily life with their guests from abroad. They offer students a great opportunity to immerse themselves in Spain and its culture.

Students do not attend language classes or group activities. This is a pure immersion program and students are invited to join their host family's daily activities. The participant should have spending money to cover these extra costs.
